How Does the Coupon System Work?
Households and businesses with City sanitation receive six (6) Landfill Coupons per calendar year. At the beginning of each year, a punch card is mailed to the home / business’s physical address. If coupons go unused, they do not roll over to the following year.
Each address receives six (6) punches. A punch is good for up to 1-ton of unusual trash. Unusual trash is defined as that resulting in seasonal or periodic clean up of the premises. Garden waste, lawn clippings, hedge / tree trimmings, furniture, fixtures or other articles not ordinarily considered normal household or business waste.
What are the Limitations?
• Loads shall have a net weight of 1-ton or less.
• Loads shall be separated into categories of household trash, green waste, construction debris and metal.
• All customers will be required to cross the landfill scales.
• Items containing freon (i.e.: refrigerators, A/C units, etc.) are not covered by your coupons.
• Businesses may not use coupons for Household Hazardous Waste (i.e.: oil, paint, pesticides, fertilizer, chemicals or other hazardous materials), Sharp Disposal or loads of Tires.
• If your card is lost, you must wait for the following year as duplicates will not be issued.

City of Sheridan Landfill requires that all waste delivered to the City of Sheridan S.W.D.F. will be secured, covered, or in a closed container. Materials delivered that do not follow these guidelines will be assessed a surcharge per load.
