Employment

Sheridan Fire Civil Service Commission conducts an entry-level firefighter testing once a year.  Prior to testing, all candidates must fill out and submit an Application-for-Employment through the City of Sheridan Human Resources Department and meet the Qualifications-for-Employment.  Testing includes a fire civil service written exam; CPAT Testing pass or fail; and oral interview.  Candidates must pass all of these tests.  Each candidate test scores are then averaged together and then placed on an eligibility list that the commission approves.  Once there is an opening within the Department, Fire Chief will then request the top three (3) to five (5) names on the list and set up personal interviews.  The Fire Chief will then make his selection.  For further information or questions, please call our administration office at (307) 672-6126.
