Sheridan Fire-Rescue opens its doors to the public during Fire Prevention Week, which is held the second full week of October, the Muscular Dystrophy Associations' Fill the Boot fund raising program which occurs over the Labor Day weekend, and the September 11th Remembrance Ceremony. During the open house events we offer fire prevention classes and demonstrations such as blood pressure checks, mock extrication and various health tips as well as conducting station tours. However, these are not the only times you may come down to see us. Sheridan Fire-Rescue retains an open door policy so please come down and check us out. We would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about your Sheridan Fire-Rescue Department. Following is a list of programs that are offered to the public:
1. First-Aid, BLS CPR/AED, and CPR/AED On-Line Blended Training:
Effective April 19, 2021, Sheridan Fire-Rescue Department offers an on-line/blended learning version for those that are interested in taking the classes online. Students will be responsible for registering and completing the online portion of the blended learning class (see First-Aid-CPR-AED Classes tab). After completion of the blended learning class, the student will contact Sheridan Fire-Rescue and schedule a skills check. all skill checks will be scheduled by appointment only on the last two (2) Thursdays of each month between the hours of 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. Sheridan Fire-Rescue's cost for the Online Blended/Learning is $35.00 and must be paid to City Hall (55 East Grinnell Plaza) prior to attending the skills check. Prior to the skills check, students must present their certificate of completion to the instructor prior to the skills check and the certificate must accompany the roster.

Payment is required prior to attending class and is non-refundable. Students that have not paid will be turned away at time of class. The Department will not be collecting monies. Please note all payments must be made to the City of Sheridan, 55 East Grinnell Plaza, Sheridan, WY 82801 prior to class time.

2. Fire Extinguisher Use and Handling Training: Sheridan Fire-Rescue provides Fire Extinguisher Training for businesses and general public. Please call our administration office (307)-672-6126 to set up date and time for these classes. There is no cost for this class.
3. Child Car Seat Inspection and Installation Program:
As of April 19, 2021, Sheridan Fire-Rescue (SFR) Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPST) will begin to provide inspections and installations for the public with direct-contact meetings. The CPST will operate under the following guidelines:
1. Scheduling: All car seat inspections/installations shall be scheduled on Tuesdays from 1700-1800 hours
and Fridays from 0900-1000 hours. No more than two (2) inspections will be scheduled during these time frames. Please call 307-674-7244 to schedule your inspection/installation.

4. Juvenile Firesetter Program: Sheridan Fire-Rescue provides juvenile firesetter counseling for children and parents. Please call our office (307)-672-6126 and ask for a fire investigator to set up a date and time.
5. Fire Safety Presentations: Sheridan Fire-Rescue provides fire safety presentations to groups and businesses as requested. Please call our administration office (307) 672-6126 to schedule a date and time.
6. Voluntary Home Fire Safety Inspections: Sheridan Fire-Rescue provides home fire safety inspections for the public. 7. 10 Year Smoke Detector Giveaway Program: Sheridan Fire-Rescue provides 10-Year Smoke Detectors to those citizens that are handicapped, elderly, low-income, or single parent families. As part of this program, a firefighter will schedule a date and time to come and install the detectors and provide fire safety material for the family. We also assist the public with battery replacement in existing alarms. Please call (307) 672-6126 to schedule an install or change battery out.

9. Commercial Inspections and Code Enforcement Program: Sheridan Fire-Rescue provides fire code inspections for all new and existing commercial businesses. Commercial businesses include all motel/hotels; restaurants; assemblies; etc. Prior to inspection, please see "Commercial Occupancy Pre-Inspection Checklist" form. 10. Fire Station Tours: Sheridan Fire-Rescue provides free fire station tours for the public. Please call our administration office (307) 672-6126 to schedule a date and time.
