The City of Sheridan’s Public Works Department plays a vital role in the development, maintenance, and long-term planning of the community’s infrastructure and public facilities. As a cornerstone of city operations, the department is involved in nearly every phase of municipal development and improvement.

Recent projects managed or supported by Public Works include significant enhancements to community assets such as the Hub on Smith Senior Center, City Landfill, Blacktooth Park, Kendrick Pool, North Heights Water Main Project, and the Main Street Reconstruction project. These initiatives demonstrate the department’s ongoing commitment to improving public spaces, supporting sustainability, and enhancing the quality of life for all residents.

The Public Works Department provides oversight and coordination for several essential City divisions, including:

  • Engineering

  • Planning

  • Building

  • Streets

Through the combined efforts of these divisions, Public Works ensures that the City of Sheridan continues to grow and thrive in a safe, sustainable, and well-planned manner.
