Loucks Street Reconstruction

Project Overview

The Loucks Neighborhood Reconstruction Project encompasses 10 city blocks and includes improvements such as sidewalk, curb & gutter, water line, storm drain, sanitary sewer, enhancements, and other miscellaneous items. This two phase project will be repairing a rapidly deteriorating, high-traffic road through Sheridan. In addition, landscaping and beautification efforts will create an appealing entryway into Sheridan. In 2016 the Highland/Loucks intersection was being repaired, as well as the connection between Thurmond and Brooks.

Project Updates

  • West Loucks St Phase II has been re-scheduled for construction in 2018.
  • Due to an increase in project cost and scope, the City is currently applying for grants and loans. The goal is to receive enough grant and loan money to make up for the shortfall of money needed to complete the project.
  • Supplementary funding will aid in the addition of a waterline loop to the area that will improve water quality.
  • Ideas and concerns addressed at public meetings will still be incorporated into the second phase of the project.
